St. Vincent de Paul
"It is our duty to prefer the service of the poor to everything else and to offer such service as quickly as possible. If a needy person requires medicine or other help during prayer time, do whatever has to be done with peace of mind. Offer the deed to God as your prayer.... Charity is certainly greater than any rule. Moreover, all rules must lead to charity."

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ:

As many of you are already aware our parish school will close at the end of this academic year. The decision comes after much prayer and careful reflection. The low enrollment for next year would not create a strong educational environment and the financial strain would be too great for the parish to bear.

A formal request was made to Bishop Serratelli for permission to close the school. The Bishop gave that permission, his support and understanding. This was then shared first with the faculty and then with the families of our school.

This is a very difficult time. It is also an important time to recognize the dedication of our faculty and staff, the efforts and sacrifices of many parents, our generous benefactors, and others who did all they could for the good of the school over many years.

The mission of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is to offer a system of education committed to developing each person involved spiritually, academically and morally so that each can become the best possible version of themselves to the glory of God.

As sad as this moment is, I pray that we have carried out that mission to the best of our ability for as long as we could. Please keep the faculty, staff and students in your prayers during this time.

Welcome to the website for St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Parish, Stirling, located in the Long Hill Township district of Morris County, New Jersey. Please look over the information offered here.

All are welcome here. The Gospel reminds us that the Lord came to seek sinners and to save them. If you are looking for the perfect church community we are not it. If you recognize that all fall short of grace and are willing to be compassionate, patient, forgiving, to love as Christ commands then we will try to do the same with and for you. Whatever your present status in the Catholic Church, whatever your current situation, whatever your past or present religious affiliation, whatever your personal history, age, background, race or color, whatever your self-esteem, you are invited, welcomed, accepted, loved, respected and challenged at St. Vincent de Paul parish to live as an authentic witness to Jesus Christ.

We have a faith based school, active youth programs, adult formation sessions, along with wonderful opportunities to serve the poor in our midst and further afield. We strive to live the life poured out on us in Baptism and are focused on the Presence of Christ, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the precious gift of the Eucharist. Connected to Christ in this way we seek Him who has called us to be a holy people, a priestly people, a people set apart for the greater glory of God. All are welcome.
